About the event
A WARM WELCOME
To our Filmmakers, Sponsors, and Friends!
As we begin the 12th year of Louisville's International Festival of Film we are in the midst of an unprecedented time in the world.
No question the virus we face has changed our lives. The way we've had to scramble to accomplish things we usually take for granted (like attending a film festival). But challenges make us all stronger and encourage us to confront obstacles and find solutions, so...
This year LIFF has gone Virtual!
Once again, you will enjoy a wonderful selection of films from the creative minds of writers, directors, and producers from around the world. Thank you for being a part of our festival this year.
Kudos to our volunteers and associates who helped create the Virtual Festival. They have worked diligently on your behalf.
A very special "Thank You" to Michelle Care Wix, who has worked tirelessly on our website and made it possible for us to screen your submissions virtually.
And LIFF is most appreciative of all of you who have supported this festival; you created the success it enjoys.
So in keeping with the situation, grab some popcorn and a cozy blanket and sit back in the comfort of your favorite armchair, and enjoy the show!
"Film as dream, film as music. No art passes our conscience in the way film does, and goes directly to our feelings, deep down into the dark rooms of our souls.” - Ingmar Bergman
Cheers to you!
Conrad Bachmann
President and Founder

Feedback from previous years
Thank you, Conrad. I have to say of all 19 festivals I attended last year, yours was in my top 3. The good people of Louisville, your staff, and your events really left a lasting impression (amazing city). I never got a chance to thank you for all the good time and hospitality we received at last year’s festival. Thank you! Until next year, hopefully.

“The Louisville’s International Festival of Film is a terrific venue for up and coming indie filmmakers. Louisville isn’t just for bourbon, purebreds, or baseball bats anymore!

“Thank you very much for screening our film “Das Falsche Herz” at your festival in Louisville Kentucky. Your festival will be the first to screen our film outside of its production country…you can imagine, that we feel very honored, to introduce our film to the American audience. A few days ago I had a look at the whole festival program. It’s very impressive!”
With kind regards from Austria,

“The Louisville International Festival of Film helped my no-budget Australian short film find an audience internationally – words can not describe how valuable a platform that is, and they have my unyielding support.”
